Marie is a seasoned radio pro, having started her career in the Inland Empire and then stops in the big cities of Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Indianapolis. She is back in Spokane to be near family and friends and was fortunate to be hired as one of the original River staff when the station signed on. She is an animal lover with five cats (last count), two dogs, a couple of fish, etc.... She is an avid bargain shopper and often sells her garage sale finds on eBay at a healthy profit. She loves to see live music and has been lucky enough to meet a lot of her favorite artists over the years. She is the music director for Spokane's River and keeps her ears perked for songs from new artists that she thinks you'll love. Marie's on the air from 10am - 3pm and features The Daily Special in the noon hour, a set of themed songs, followed by a Daily Special Prize Package giveaway. Listen while you work online at SpokanesRiver.com or on your radio at Spokane's River 99 dot 9.
Glad to be on board as your afternoon host on Spokane's River 99.9. I've had the pleasure of spending my entire radio career in Spokane, my designated home town. All paths have led to this station, which to me is a great combination of what I enjoyed from stations past, into what I know is now Spokane's coolest radio station.
I'm a total music freak. You have to be to do this crazy job to begin with. I have an insatiable need to hear new music and to discover new artists and bands. I get that here. I love New Wave, Alternative, and Indie bands from the past. It's also fun to be a part of a station that allows you, The River listener, to be so involved in the whole creative process. That's rare, and something to jump on, so feel free... Thanks for allowing me to share your work space, home, or wherever you're listening on-line. Check out the 5:20 Funnies to put a smile on your face for your commute, too.
Away from the station, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool motor-head. I build a vintage custom motorcycle every winter for the upcoming show season. If you'd like to see what I'm slaving away on in my tiny little un-heated one-car garage, check out my blog. The link is below. Thanks for looking, and especially thanks for listening.
A little biit about Greg; I'm happily married with four kids Wyatt, Kate, Molly and Sarah. We love to camp, go to the Oregon coast and play basketball....Lots of basketball. Two dogs entered the fold last year. Clem and Annie love to take advantage of our large numbers and enjoy being scratched by everyone. Our cat, Noony, is against the dogs in general, but loves to scare them with her claws and negative energy. I love old Volkswagens. I even drive one! Can't get enough Steely Dan. I like the Killers, Break and Repair Method, My Morning Jacket and Rough Congress on the more recent front. Love to see music live. You can find me hanging out at the P.I. or (more likely) at one of my kid's events.
Born in Denver, Mike got into radio right after graduating from SFCC in 1979. After working with 12 stations and various formats including sports play by play in Washington and Idaho he came to work for KXLY in 1996. Mike has been heard on several of our stations while primarily working for KXLY-FM. Mike's passions are music and he is a huge history buff, studies finance, loves eschatology and is a die hard Seahawk and Mariner fan!

Michael "Metal"
Metal (my initials MTL) is a nickname I was given many years ago in my "BIG HAIR" band days. Gotta love the 80's! Luckily the nickname stuck and not the hairstyle!
I have played in bands for over 20 years now. My mom, dad, uncle and grandfather all have played or are currently playing in bands too. Also my grandmother was a music teacher so I am continuing a long family tradition of music and performance. It is in my blood and something I NEED as much as food, water and air to exist.
I am continuing my lifetime goal of being a professional songwriter/musician. I was/am a loyal River listener. I am a transplant from Billings, Montana which is where I where I earned my degrees in Radio/TV broadcasting and Recording Engineering and "cut my teeth" playing in many bands with some of my best friends. I have been here for 2 years now and love the Spokane area! I am the proud father of two wonderful boys! Dylan Seven, and Jessie Jadyn Hawk. They are my pride, joy and inspiration!
